Actor and singer (1850-1918), associated with Johann Strauss and the Golden Age of the Viennese Operetta. Vintage matte-finish 3.25 x 5.25 postcard three-quarter length photo, signed vertically in fountain pen, “Alexander Girardi, March 1901.” Accompanied by a color postcard showing him with actress Hansi Niese in his most famous role as “Valentin” in which he sang the renowned “Hobellied” (Planing Song). In fine condition, with silvering to lower portion of image, and scattered light ink marks to left edge, lightly affecting first name of signature. RRAuction COA.
