Innovative American sculptor (1898–1976) best known for devising the mobile, the form with which he was most closely associated. ALS signed “Sandy Calder,” one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, February 13, 1960. In full: “Here is the Host’s address in Japan. He’s a Dane, & Jeanne american (daughter of an old friend of ours). Did you contact Ihakuma? I am afraid you’ll have to wait little bit, for Louisa & I are off on 24 Feb to Rio, for the Carnaval, & will be back in 2 weeks for my show at Perls, March 15.” In fine condition with a bit of toning at the extreme edges.
