Alex Kotzky - Apartment 3-G Sunday Comic Strip Origin Alex Kotzky - Apartment 3-G Sunday Comic Strip
Alex Kotzky - Apartment 3-G Sunday Comic Strip Original Art, dated 3-4-62 (North American Syndicate, 1962). Following in the footsteps of Stan Drake, Alex Kotzky joined the new wave of soap opera strip cartoonists who brought a photo-realistic and advertising elan to their figure drawing. An interesting sidebar to this Sunday is that Alex's friend and former Quality Comics and Johnson and Cushing comrade, artist/editor Gill Fox, served as the model for the character Packy, featured in a large profile in panel one. This Sunday hails within the first ten months of the strip's debut, and it is marked by an especially detailed treatment of the backgrounds of each panel. The image size of the Sunday measures 20.5" x 14". The paper was cut between panel tiers two and three, and later carefully rejoined with paper tape on the reverse of the art; there is some mild paper aging apparent; otherwise the art is in Very Good condition. Add a little dash and romance to your art collection with this lovely 3-G Sunday! From the collection of Gill Fox.
