Depicted is a group of four coat wearing people, who are arranged in an order that their relation to each other remains unclear. Alex Katz is a representative of modern realism and pop art and he is known for his large-format portraits.



The silkscreen in colors is signed in pencil lower left ‘Alex Katz’ and numbered in pencil lower left ‘75/100’. Handling creases are visible. The print is finely rubbed and the corners are bent. The dimensions of the sheet size depiction are 76 x 112 cm.



Alex Katz (b. 1927)

Alex Katz was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1927. Between the years 1946 and 49 he studied at the Cooper Union in New York, after which he studied at the renown Skowhegan School of painting and sculpture in Maine for a year. In 1954 the Roko Gallery in New York holds the first solo-exhibition of his work. In 1974 the Whitney Museum of American Art organizes a travelling exhibition of Alex Katz’s prints. Throughout the next years and up to now his work is exhibited around the globe. His work is also featured in prominent private and public collections.
