<B>Albumen Photograph of Little Big Mouth</B></I><BR>Circa 1870<BR>Length 7 1/4 in. Width 5 1/2 in.; as framed Length 13 3/4 in. Width 11 3/4 in.<BR><BR>The subject is seated next to his tipi and wearing an eagle feather headdress. A large double bar cross hangs around his neck. Little Big Mouth is holding a pipe and stem and tobacco bag in his left hand. Photograph by Will Soule and signed "Soule" in ink, lower right. Soule operated a photo studio at Fort Sill, Indian Territory between 1870 and 1874. His superb portraits of Kiowa, Comanche, Cheyenne, Arapaho, Caddo, and Witchita Indians are well known to photo historians and collectors.
