Military leader and politician (1583–1634) who offered his services during the Thirty Years' War to the Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II. He became the supreme commander of the armies of the Habsburg Monarchy and a major figure of the Thirty Years' War. Rare LS in German, two pages (one measuring 7.5 x 9 and the signed page measuring 7.25 x 11.5), June 1628. Untranslated letter to Field Marshal von Arnim, written during the Siege of Stralsund. In light overall staining, and partial splitting along a horizontal fold condition. Albrecht von Wallenstein's Imperial Army unsuccessfully laid siege to the city of Stralsund during the summer of 1628 as part of the Thirty Years' War. The siege ended Wallenstein's series of victories, and contributed to his downfall.
