German painter, architect, and craftsman. Mueller originally worked as a furniture draftsman and interior designer, which enabled him to finance his studies at the schools of arts and crafts in Mainz and Dresden. He was self-taught as an architect. In 1906 he went to Darmstadt, where he became a member of the artists' colony and was professor of interior design from 1907-1911.
