In part: “Prof. Skillings tells me you are thinking about organizing a concert for my trip to Worcester, Mass…I am deeply grateful for all your doing for me. Right now I have big expenditures…These trips are very expensive and I’m sending one of my Congo doctors to a better climate for a few months. All these expenses I wouldn’t be able to do without all the gifts I receive from the friends in the US. And there are expenses so necessary that I’m not taking my own vacation. I’ve gotten used to this bad climate a little and I’m doing well in spite of the long stay. Now it’s the beginning of the dry season where it’s less hot.
