Albert Schweitzer signed and inscribed hospital plan. Signature and French inscription to a plan of Schweitzer's hospital, plantation and leper village in Lambarene, West Central Africa. Schweitzer and his wife founded the hospital in 1913 based on Schweitzer's well-known philosophy of ''Reverence for Life.'' He was once quoted as saying, ''A man is truly ethical only when he obeys the compulsion to help all life...'' Measures approximately 11.75'' X 9.25''. Some creasing, else excellent condition.
