Oil on canvas, framed. Featuring realistic landscape scene. With solid wood frame, carved and painted in gold. Signed "ABierstadt" to the bottom right corner. Patched piece on verso. Some touch up to the oil, but the signature is untouched. 85 x 115 cm (33.46 x 45.28 inches). Frame size: 133 x 168 cm (52.36 x 66.14 inches). Provenance: Private collector from Vienna Austria. Purchased prior to 1938 and thus from descent. Additional notes regarding provenance: Previously owned by uncle of current owner, Dr. Franz Riss. Dr. Franz Riss was Arthur Krupp's general secretary until 1945. Owner's father was Director of the "Klinkosch Gold-und Silberwarenfabrik" a Krupp subsidiary in Vienna. Arthur Krupp was the owner and founder of the "Berndorfer Metallwaarenfabrik" a firm producing tableware in silver and Chinese silver as well as bronze sculptures employing at one point 6,000 employees.
