For your consideration is this mid 1900s Alaskan Inuit soapstone carving of a woman and her child on a dogsled. The piece depicts a woman standing on the back of the sled while her child sits near the front. The sled is pulled by two dogs, one is sitting, while the other is lying down. The woman is holding hide strap reins and she is wearing a large parka with the hood over her head. The bottom of the sculpture features green felt pieces to prevent scratching on other surfaces. The piece shows good condition overall with some slight wear present, but no obvious signs of damage are noted. The sculpture measures 13" L x 6 1/2" W x 7 1/4" H and weighs 5 pounds and 6 ounces.
