Very rare scene! Nine miners pose for a photograph next to two crude rockers and a mammoth tusk! Snow on the ground behind them. Placer miners in Alaska sometimes uncovered mammoth remains as they worked ground that had been preserved since the last Ice Age. Photograph measures 4.5" x 7.5,' mounted on 4.5" x 9" cardstock. Reverse indicates this was once glued into an album. Contrast is medium, though there is wear to the photo surface: scratches and soiling. A very unique view!
