Signed book: Moon Shot. First edition. Atlanta, GA: Turner Publishing, 1994. Hardcover with dust jacket, 6.5 x 9.25, 383 pages. Signed and inscribed in black felt tip on the title page, "To Hans Hosenthien, Member of 'The Team,' Alan Shepard." In fine condition. Hans Henning Hosenthien was a German engineer (1915-1996) who worked with the German A4 rocket program under Wernher von Braun in Peenemünde. After the end of World War II, he went to the USA, along with von Braun and various other employees of the missile program, as part of Operation Paperclip. He worked for NASA at the Marshall Space Flight Center as the Head of Flight Dynamics Branch, Guidance and Control Division.
