This Art Deco alabaster desk accessory, used to hold paperclips and pencils with a figurial dog in a sitting position has no makers mark. Alabaster (sometimes called satin spar) is a name applied to varieties of two distinct minerals: gypsum (a hydrous sulfate of calcium) and calcite (a carbonate of calcium). Circa 1930's it is in very good + condition and measures 3 1/8 inches tall, 5 1/2 inches wide and 5 1/4 inches deep.
