Original hand-inked eleven-panel Mutt and Jeff comic strip, stamp-dated September 2, 1972, on an off-white 22 x 14 piece of artist’s cardstock. Strip depicts the lead characters saving a drowning man…for a price. Signed at the last panel in black ink by Smith and again signed and inscribed in green ink at the top border “To Bob Burnworth—Best Wishes—Al Smith.” In fine condition, with some scattered soiling and editorial notation.
