<B>Al Smith: The "Notorious" Al & Joe Let's Go Jugate Button Variety.</B></I> One of the great jugate button designs of that era, this rare variety has always suffered in the marketplace because several relatively convincing fake versions were made circa the 1960s. The fakes are deceptive only in that their style of manufacture is not obviously modern. However, a quick comparison with an authentic example clears up any confusion. The copies have a somewhat darker gray background, and a fine overall dot pattern absent on the originals. Authentic examples also have a somewhat higher dome. The present example is unequivocally correct, in choice condition, with the original button paper of "Billy Wager The Button, Badge, And Banner Man" of Bronx, New York".
