<B>Al Smith: Extremely Rare 6" Celluloid.</B></I> Dating from one of Smith's four gubernatorial campaigns (1918-1924), this large 6" beauty would make a perfect centerpiece in any Al Smith collection. Like many Bastian Brothers products, it makes a rich use of black and white color tones. It is constructed similarly to a pin-back button with a concave metal back, but has holes in the metal back for suspension rather than a wearing pin. We can recall seeing perhaps only a couple of other examples over the years, one of which had significant condition problems. The present example presents in near-mint condition, but on close examination there are several fine scratches and light surface scuffs visible only when the light hits at a certain angle. For strictest accuracy, we also note several minute rim chips at 2:30, but none of these trivial problems detract significantly.
