The intrepid Clark even scales an icy cliff face and crawls through the giant lock mechanism of the door to the Fortress of Solitude. Guess he wasn't worried about maintaining his milquetoast guise (though he did keep his glasses on). Al Plastino draws the stolid, thick-waisted Superman of that era, which has its own kooky, nostalgic appeal. The image area is 13" x 18" on a 14" x 22" page. There is some discoloration on the edges of the page, and white-out in one panel with the words "take out" written in blue pencil (in Mort Weisinger's own hand?) in the margin nearby. <B>Estimate: $500-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment.
