Al Jolson Autographed Photo
When driving to the Los Angeles International Airport, you can't miss it as you drive on the 405. Right off the freeway at the Hillside Memorial Park, it's as big as the man's ego and talent: a massive waterfall monument, with towering Greek style four-pilloried round obelisk, and cascading circles of black granite that could only be some kind of homage to a God! It is, in fact the monument to the great entertainer Al Jolson who is buried there. For the first half of the 20th Century he was refereed to as the World's Greatest Entertainer. The most famous man on Earth. Of course known for starring in the first talking picture, "The Jazz Singer" in 1927 and uttering the famous line "You ain't heard nothing yet!", he also is known for his infamous renditions of "Mammy" in blackface. And he holds the record for more live performances than any man in showbiz. He died in 1950. Autographs of the "great one", have becoming harder and harder to find through the years. This is one of his autographs, on a photo of himself, given out in the late 1930's. A rare collectable! Photo of Jolson is 5"x7". In excellent condition.
