Impressive oversized ink sketch drawn for the front page of the entertainment section of the New York Times in 1979, accomplished by Hirschfeld on a 20 x 29 sheet of illustration board, signed in the lower left in ink, “Hirschfeld, 3, Stratford, Conn.” The sketch depicts five-time Tony winner Julie Harris and Jack Weston as they appeared in the 1979 Broadway comedy Break a Leg, written by Tony winner Ira Levin. In fine condition, with a few trivial surface marks. An absolutely unique, oversized original of one of Hirschfeld’s world-famous caricatures.
