Mid-century Danish modern wall mirror designed by Aksel Kjersgaard, Odder, Denmark. Model No. 206, crafted circa 1960s. The mirror features a solid teak wood frame with expertly rounded corners and a sculptural, minimalist profile that reflects the refined sensibilities of Scandinavian modern design. The original fiberboard backing is stamped with the designer's name, town of manufacture, and model number. Designed to be wall-mounted with the attached wire but also suitable as a leaning floor mirror, this piece blends function with elegant simplicity. Aksel Kjersgaard was a pioneering Danish furniture designer and cabinetmaker renowned for his contributions to Scandinavian modernism. After training as a cabinetmaker and studying furniture design in Denmark and abroad, he founded his own workshop in Odder in 1952. Kjersgaard specialized in high-quality craftsmanship with clean lines and an emphasis on form and proportion. His work, often executed in teak and rosewood, reflects a deep respect for materials and meticulous construction.
