The photograph ‘Destructuras 055’ was created by the Spanish artist Aitor Ortiz in 1997. A focus of his work is architectonic studies. In reducing the buildings to their elementary structure, the artist reaches an almost abstract character. This photograph is part of the series ‘Destructuras’. Ortiz is undoubtedly one of the most well-known, contemporary, Spanish photo artists, who combined high technical standards with artistic composition.



The lambda print is laminated on Alu-Dibond and sealed with acrylic glass. The photograph is signed by the artist verso in felt pen and numbered 4/7. The acrylic glass shows some scratches and heavy soiling. The work is besides that in good condition. The dimensions are 125 x 50 cm.



Aitor Ortiz (b. 1971)

Aitor Ortiz is known for his architectural photography. Subject of his work are monumental structures, such as the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao or Norman Foster’s railway overpass in Millau in South France. The artist has taken part in various nationwide solo and group exhibitions. Examples of his work can be found in several Spanish museums, for example the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. He was awarded with the Photography Prize ‘Villa de Madrid’ as well as with the ABC Prize of Photography. Aitor Ortiz lives and works in Bilbao. (tm)
