Air Force Patch Space Flown with Buzz Aldrin on Apollo 11. Affixed to a piece of cloth the patch measures 3.75” in diameter and sports a bright colored eagle over a standard air force insignia. On the surface the patch would be nothing special but this patch was carried on the famous Apollo 11 flight to the moon with astronaut Buzz Aldrin. This unique artifact bridges two important time periods in Dr. Aldrin's life: his time in the Air Force and his career at NASA. Dr. Aldrin served 21 years in the Air Force, variously as a jet fighter pilot in Korea, an aerial gunnery instructor, aide to the dean of faculty at the Air Force Academy, a flight instructor, as well as serving at the Gemini Target Office and Edwards Air Force Base after receiving his doctorate at MIT. Dr. Aldrin retired from the Air Force in 1972. From the personal collection of Dr. Buzz Aldrin and accompanied by a signed Letter of Authenticity from him.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
