Mario Testino is one of the most famous contemporary portrait and fashion photographers in the world; the auction record for one of his photographs currently sets at 64,000 euro

The present offset in colors is a poster printed in 2002 on the occasion of the great Mario Testino exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London. It depicts a portrait of the British actress Liz Hurley posing in front of a swimming pool. Her styling is composed of a pink bikini and a white fur and yet renders the prominent lady a precious character due to Testino’s thoughtful choice of lighting and color setting.



The color offset is signed with felt pen lower center ‘Mario Testino’. The sheet shows a number of scattered crease marks. There is a fine tear of approximately 6 mm at the lower right edge. The image size is equal to the sheet size of 80 x 60 cm.



Mario Testino (b. 1954)

The Peruvian Mario Testino started his artistic career in the late 1970s, when he was engaged as a fashion photographer by the British, American, French and Italian magazinesVogue and Vanity Fair. Fashion manufacturers such as Gucci, Versace, Gap and Burberry quickly became aware of the talented photographer, whose fine sense of moments, fashion and its production was outstanding. Testino also became a very sought-after portraitist and was, for instance, committed by celebrities of film, fashion and music as well as by members of the most famous royal houses. Photographs by Mario Testino have meanwhile fetched up to several thousands of Euros on the international auction market. (cbo)
