The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction that features a cavalry trooper riding at a gallop with his rifle slung on his saddle and saber by his side. The bronze is marked 'Frederic Remington' and shows a plaque on the marble base that reads: Trooper of the Plain. Frederic Sackrider Remington was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer who specialized in the genre of Western American Art. His works are known for depicting the Western United States in the last quarter of the 19th century and featuring such images as cowboys, American Indians, and the US Cavalry. The condition of this bronze is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this bronze is 17 1/2" x 17" x 6 1/2".
