After Frederic Remington "Coming Through The Rye" 30" Bronze Statue on a Black Marble Base

Frederic Remington was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer that specialized in Western American Art. He played a significant role in capturing the spirit of the American frontier in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Remington's work is often associated with the Cowboy and Native American cultures, as well as the U.S. Cavalry. This incredible artwork was Remington’s most ambitious sculpture. "Coming Through The Rye" depicts four cowboys riding their galloping horses whilst shooting their pistols into the air and acting boisterous, suggesting the bravado and energy that characterized the frontier way of life. This famous sculpture was inspired by the artist's own illustrations, one published in "Century Magazine" in October 1888, the other in "Harper’s Weekly" in December 1889. This bronze statue and marble base are in excellent condition, only showing light handling and storage marks. The finish is complete with no defects. It measures 30" W x 28" H x 24" L. "Frederic Remington" is marked on the base, there are no other markings. This thought provoking and very large sculpture is a must have for any Western collection.
