Originating from the African continent, the giraffe is the tallest of all landliving animal species. Their scientific name is Giraffa camelopardalis, which is similar to its antiquated English name of camelopard. They are compared to having traits similar to that of the leopard and the camel. Their spots and the fact that they will drink large quantities of water when available to be able to survive extended periods in dry areas, are probably the reasons for that association. They tend to associate in groups of a dozen or so members. This Sculpture shows a group of three giraffes galloping. This Bronze Sculpture cast through the Lost Wax Method and mounted on a marble base. Bronze Dimensions with Marble Base: Height 18 X Width 9 inches. Weight: 25 LBS.
