Brad Whitford’s personally-owned and -used custom-made teal Fernandes TE-2C electric guitar. The gorgeous six-string guitar is styled after a Telecaster and features two pickups and a pearloid pickguard. Includes the original hardshell case and a letter from Fernandes to an Aerosmith representative concerning two guitars, in part: “Here are the two guitars I told you about. Both of the guitars have been fitted with Fralin pickups. They have also been set up with Markley .009 thru .046 strings.” In fine condition, with one small chip to the finish. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Whitford as well as a photo of him holding the guitar. Whitford joined Aerosmith in 1971, and the band signed their first record deal with Columbia shortly thereafter. Turmoil within the band caused Joe Perry to quit in 1979 and Whitford left to pursue a solo career in 1981. After recording a single solo album, Whitford teamed up with his fellow Aerosmith guitarist in the Joe Perry Project. They disbanded in 1984 to rejoin Aerosmith, and the original band has remained intact ever since. An excellent piece of rock history as a personally-owned and -used instrument from the Aerosmith guitarist. Oversized.
