Adventures Of Robin Hood (1938) Kent Road Tavern Brass Mugs Props - In "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1938), truly one of the greatest adventure motion pictures ever produced, nobleman Sir Robin of Locksley ... aka Robin Hood (Errol Flynn) creates a band of "Merry Men" to help him bring Richard the Lionheart (Ian Hunter), back to power as the King Of England. In one of the key moments of this beloved masterpiece, King Richard returns to England with some of his loyal knights disguised as a band of merchants. They end up one night at the Kent Road Tavern for food, drink and sleep. However, the evil Norman Bishop of the Black Canons (Montague Love) comes into the tavern having just been robbed by Robin Hood. While they dine, the Bishop overhears one of Richard's men call him "sire", and realizes who he is. The Bishop leaves quickly to inform let his whereabouts be known to his younger brother Prince John (Claude Rains), who immediately orders his assassination. These are two screen used brass mugs that are prominently displayed on the Kent Road Tavern table where King Richard and his men are dining. They are in excellent condition, considering they are over 75 years old. These actual screen used props from this magnificent motion picture are rare and extremely sought after and collectable. These pair of Kent Road Tavern brass mugs come from legendary Jerry Neeley's collection. Neeley was the well known film historian, writer, collector and owner of the famous "Jerry's Video" in Los Feliz, CA. Customers, collectors and throngs of famous directors, writers and industry people would come from around the world to talk to Jerry, whose knowledge and memory were encyclopedic and also to visit his magnificent famous collection of classic movie memorabilia. Also included is a Letter of Provenience from Jerry Neeley's widow and co-owner of his various video and memorabilia shops. The mugs are approx 5.5"x4" The handle is 5.5"x2.5".
