Born 1858. Died 1925. German artist. Adolf Jahn was born in Stettin in 1858 and studied at the academies of Berlin and Vienna. He specialized in statuettes, groups, busts and
bas-reliefs portraying contemporary and historical subjects.
This is a 25 inch high by 11 inches at the widest point wood sculpture. Most likely this is the original model created for the bronze entitled "Nathan the Elder." This is an original wood sculpture from Jahn circa 1900.
