War-dated DS, in German, one page, 8 x 11.5, entitled in type, “In Namen des Deutschen Volkes!,” April 28, 1942. Military document signed by Hitler as Fuhrer and countersigned at the bottom by the head of the Wehrmacht, Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel. Hitler appoints three new major generals, all of whom would later become well known. The appointees are as follows: Friedrich Koechling ultimately promoted to a three star general of infantry; Wilhelm Reithel, a highly educated man with two earned doctorates, ultimately promoted to a two star lieutenant general; Johannes Mayer, who would later become a three star general of infantry, a gallant command fighter, awarded the Knights Cross with oakleaves and swords. The document bears a large embossed seal of an eagle holding a swastika at center left. In fine condition. An uncommon and desirable document appointing no less than three future well accomplished generals.
