This gingerbread mantel clock was built to commemorate the Spanish American War of 1898, and it highlights its hero, Admiral Dewey. The beatifully constructed oak case is full of wartime symbols, including American flags, stacks of cannonballs, stars and anchors. The pendulum is solid brass. The glass front has a gilt stencilled design to ensure all will remember the Maine, along with waving flags. The clock was made in U.S.A. by E. INGRAHAM around 1898-1902. It features a wind-up alarm that sounds like a buzzer. The movement was running fine when tested. Its dimensions are: Height - 23" , Width - 15" , Depth - 5" * * This clock will be historic for a clock collector, or a splendid piece for a military collector.
