A single Early American Pressed Glass covered compote, often attributed to the Adams Glass Company, circa 1880s. Executed in clear pressed glass, the piece features a footed bowl and a conical fitted lid topped with a knop finial. The decoration consists of highly detailed molded relief profile busts, including a male figure wearing a cap or helmet and a female figure, interspersed with patriotic motifs such as shields and fanned elements or plumes. This decoration gives the piece a distinctive Western-inspired lidded dish aesthetic. The lid is further embellished with a band of molded five-pointed stars. The molded pedestal foot features heavy radial ribbing.
