<B>Actress and Inventor Florence Lawrence Cabinet Card</B></I> with lower margin imprinted by photographer J. Gross of St. Louis, Missouri. The sickeningly sweet ruffled child in this 1890s studio portrait is none other than Canadian-born Florence Lawrence (1886-1938), "The First Movie Star". Lawrence appeared in 270 films, becoming quite the celebrity during the early days of Hollywood. This cabinet card has light wear to edges, else is in very fine condition. Lawrence's silent movies are now largely forgotten, as is her enduring legacy as an inventor.
