<B>Action Comics #40 (DC, 1941) CGC VF- 7.5 Cream to off-white pages.</B></I> This is an issue we seldom see, it's the first appearance of the Star Spangled Kid and Stripesy who went on to be the stars of <B>Star-Spangled Comics</B></I>. We believe Fred Ray's cover to be the first DC war cover to identify the Germans as the enemy-- note the cross on the tank, and also the September 1941 cover date placing the issue prior to the USA entering the war. CGC notes, "Very minor amount of color touch on cover." Overstreet 2006 VF 8.0 value = $1,113.
