Metallo also made his first appearance in the issue. Curt Swan drew the cover, which has become one of the more famous Superman covers of that era. This first shocking Supergirl story was written by Otto Binder (who was previously in on the creation of Captain Marvel's female counterpart Mary Marvel... coincidence?) and drawn by Al Plastino. Overstreet 2006 VF 8.0 value = $1,275.
