Rare hand-colored Revolutionary War-era map entitled “A New and Accurate Map of the Province of Virginia in North America,” 15.25 x 13, from Universal Magazine, published London 1779. Map shows towns, counties, rivers, mountains, and parts of Maryland and North Carolina. In very good condition, with map archivally backed with Japan paper on reverse, previous storage folds, with small area of paper loss along one vertical fold, crease to lower right corner, and some mild toning. This particular map is now quite scarce.
