Absolutely majestic fine royal Persian Kerman Rug. 100% natural, vegetable dye, hand woven, finest hand spun baby lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation. This is a breathtaking piece, not only in its artistic and intricate design, color, scheme and weave, but also because of the unusual open field design and warm captivating shade of ruby red for a background. Please notice the elegant and graceful looking central medallion sitting like a jewel on the open field. What is intriguing, is when, one is reminded of the fact that Kerman, a desert town in the south central part of Iran, is the birthplace of a Rug with such dazzling beauty. In fact it is only then, that one would come to realize and appreciate that this is man's genius way of counter balancing the harshness of its environment - the barren land with minimal vegetation- surrounding it.
