Absolutely majestic fine part silk Persian Isfahan Rug. Made of all natural, vegetable dye, hand woven, softest baby lamb's wool pile on pure silk foundation. this breathtaking beautiful Isfahan is woven by a renowned master weaver Seyrafian. it is to achieve highly intricate pattern that silk foundation is used, and with this Isfahan one would readily observe the sharp, crisp, and well defined end product. Where a Persian rug is typically limited to a range of twelve and sixteen colors, this lovely piece features more than forty two different colors. a testimonial to the idea that rugs are indeed true portable garden. given the fact that the city of Isfahan lies at the edge of the desert, it is rather unusual to come across rugs with such a predominant beige color background. Primary colors are typically used in Persian rugs to absorb the harsh and intense desert sunlight, in order to be soothing to the eyes. This impeccable and splendid royal Isfahan is masterfully hand woven, knot by knot, and it has about 300 knots per square inch. The baby lamb's wool is of the softest quality to the point that it feels like velvet to the touch. Attesting to the fine weave is the fact, that the back looks as good as the front. It takes well over five years for a master weaver to weave and create this rug, an art underfoot. Size: 14 feet X 10 feet. Country of origin: Iran.
