Absolutely fabulous hand blown French art glass sculpture, signed. Exquisite art glass sculpture by prize-winning French master glassblower. This beautiful piece, executed by Olivier mallemouche, draws its inspiration from aquatic world. Technically superb, its form gives the impression of a fish leaping out of the water, a form requiring immense skill on the part of the artist as he embeds successive layers of colors, varying in transparency and opacity, relating them to one another in the molten glass while continually controlling the ultimate stylized fish shape and achieving perfect transparency and the enveloping of the outer layer. This one of a kind piece, which combines stunning artistry and technical perfection, is signed on the bottom by French master glassblower Olivier mallemouche. This piece weighs about 12 lbs. Born into a glass blower family, Olivier mallemouche perfected his technical skills in tableware before beginning to explore his artistic side. He is inspired by locales, motif, primitive crafts, curves and pictographs as well as all things essentially human. The combination of technical mastery, inspiration and creativity has won him numerous European prizes and his work has been displayed in many galleries around the world. Size: 18X7 inches.
