Absolutely fabulous & colorful vintage Persian Qarajeh Rug. 100% natural, vegetable dye, hand woven, superior quality hand spun wool pile on cotton foundation. This is a vintage, mid-20th century Qarajeh in mint condition. this enchanting piece, like every other village made rug is woven by the women of the household, incorporating symbols and motifs that reflect weaver's everyday life experiences and cultural beliefs such as, prosperity, fertility, good luck and good fortune as well as elements that ward off the evil eyes. Qarajeh rugs are known and valued for their artistic & colorful character. These rugs have their own very unique style & therefore are very distinguishable from other styles. This lovely piece has the most beautiful and artistic color combination with amazing details. Village of Qarajeh is located in the northwestern part of Iran in the proximity of the town of Heriz and has a very limited rug production, making it one of the more sought after village made pieces among the Persian rugs. It is also amazing that a village made piece would have such a contemporary appearance and appeal. Please notice the enchanting animals (vigilante dogs) adorning this piece.
