Absolutely beautiful & lustrous signed fine part silk Persian Tabriz rug. 100%natural, hand woven, vegetable dye, pure silk and finest baby lamb's wool pile on pure silk foundation. this gorgeous Tabriz is hand woven pre-revolution by a renowned master weaver "baba-zadeh" double signed in mint condition. This is a perfect example of a sophisticated royal Tabriz design, starting with its tear drop central medallion to the detail of the spillover of the main field design over and onto the primary and secondary borders which is extremely rare to come across in the market place. This royal Tabriz has a lustrous appearance of utmost beauty and its silk highlights give it a three dimensional character. The leather band sewn on the edge on the back of this rug is to prevent the edges from curling under due to the extreme tightness of the weave. Please also notice the extra flat weave at both ends of the rug, celebrating the start and finish of the weaving process. This super fine Tabriz is masterfully woven and has about 400 knots per square inch. It takes over five years for a master weaver to bring the beauty to life. Size: 11 feet 9 inches X 8 feet 1 inche.
