Absolutely Rare Darling Vintage Persian Shirvan Rug. Made of all natural, vegetable dye, hand woven, finest worsted wool pile on cotton foundation. This is an absolutely rare and captivating Shirvan design plus a charming color combination. It is just stunning as to how artistic, progressive and contemporary looking this Mid-20th century piece is. Please notice that, in this unique, rare and one of a kind piece, no one medallion is similar to the other and yet there's a wonderful color balance and harmony that is hard to surpass. The art of carpet weaving in the Karabak, Shirvan territory is undoubtedly influenced by a number of objective factors, among them the geographical location of this region, at the joint of the east and the west. Here, along the greater Caucasus ridge, lies the borderline between Asia and Europe. Here is the historical juxtaposition point between Islamic and Christian cultures.
