<B>Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War in Postcards</B></I> An excellent dealer's lot consisting of approximately 850 color postcards with some black and white real-photo postcards from 1900 to the mid 1960s with numerous examples from the 1909 Lincoln centennial. Examples range from formal portraits of Lincoln to images of sites related to his life and the many statues and memorials erected in his honor together with more general tourist cards for various states associated with Lincoln. Also included are images of the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, Civil War monuments and battlefields including numerous views of Vicksburg, Gettysburg, Atlanta, and many others. Also includes some brilliant examples of mid-century roadside Americana regaling in tacky splendor, rich in oversaturated hues and amateur composition. Some have been postal used.
