A plea prepared for and signed by Joseph Peters, defendant in a suit brought by Robbins and Pomeroy. Peters seeks judgment in his favor because a writ was "<I>served upon him, within the county of Champaign…and because…the county of Vermilion is not the county of the plaintiffs; and because…the causes of action…did not…accrue in the county of Vermilion; and because…said causes of action were not…specifically made payable in said county of Vermilion… [W]herefore he prays judgment of said writ and declaration, and that the same may be quashed &c.</B></I>" Broken folds reinforced on verso, which is blank except for dockets.
