<B>Abraham Lincoln: Rare Clay Pipe with Bearded Portrait.</B></I> Clay pipes of this type came into wide use in the 1840s. They often depict various presidents and candidates from Harrison through Cleveland. However, this is the first Lincoln example we have handled. Almost certainly from the Civil War period, it features a high-relief portrait surrounded by a wreath and stars with his name below. Excellent condition except the end of the stem has broken off as shown.
