<B>Abraham Lincoln Autograph Document</B></I> not signed in his own name, but signed seven times "<I>Peters p.d.</B></I>" on behalf of his partner. No place or date, two pages, folio. Multiple pleas in People of Illinois for the use of Jacob Delay, guardian, vs Samuel Caughron, Abram Long and John Johnson. The latter deny that some "<I>supposed writing</B></I>" is their deed, and claim that Caughron made "<I>a true and perfect inventory of…the goods and chattels, rights and credits…of…William Caughron deceased…as…administrator, and did exhibit such…to the probate court</B></I>"; further that "<I>there was not found remaining upon the account of the said administrator…any amount of money and property…subject to distribution amongst the heirs…</B></I>" They also deny that Delay tendered Caughron a bond as alleged. Writing affected in some spots by numerous old glassine fold repairs and heavy, soiled folds. <I>From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.</B></I>
