Abraham Lincoln autograph note signed as President, dated 27 October 1863, during the Civil War and just a few weeks before Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address. Note, addressed to the Secretary of War, reads, ''I support by what Hon. Mr. Kellogg, of Michigan, says of his personal knowledge, this boy should be discharged, but I submit it to the Secretary of War / A. Lincoln''. Pewter-toned frame measures 21.75'' x 15.75''. Note, with a one line docket written in red ink below note and signature, measures 3.5'' x 6''. Also includes portrait engraving of the 16th President. Near fine condition.
