On autograph card, 3.5” x 2”, in ink, has been removed from an album and displays the usual glue marks on the reverse, else a bold signature in very good condition. Appropriately Phillips has written “<I>Liberty Equality</B></I>” above his signature. Wendell Philips (1811-1884) was a prominent abolitionist whose anti-slavery activities can be traced back to 1835.
