Featherweight boxing champion of the world 1901–1912. Attell later became one of the instigators of the 1919 Chicago Black Sox scandal. Vintage matte-finish 11 x 14 full-length photo of Attell in a boxing pose, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To my pals, Art an Ann, From the Little Champ, Abe Attell.” In very good condition, with rippling to three edges, and some scattered light creasing and soiling, none affecting the crisp signature. A nice oversized image of one of boxing’s greatest, but controversial, figures.
